SkullSpace provides a mailing list for anybody involved with the CyberNEXS project. This is basically an email relay where an email sent to one place ([mailto:cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca]) is distributed to everybody who is subscribed. To subscribe, simply email [mailto:cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca] with a blank email and follow the instructions. To reply publicly to an email, use the "reply all" feature in your mail client; to reply privately, use "reply" or "reply to sender" in your mail client.

This page is for the CyberNEXS project, and how SkullSpace can help out.

So far, we've set up a mailing list for the project. Instructions on its usage are below.

Mailing List

SkullSpace provides a mailing list for anybody involved with the CyberNEXS project. This is basically an email relay where an email sent to one place (cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca) is distributed to everybody who is subscribed. To subscribe, simply email cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca with a blank email and follow the instructions. To reply publicly to an email, use the "reply all" feature in your mail client; to reply privately, use "reply" or "reply to sender" in your mail client.

Subscribing

To subscribe to a mailing list, send an email to cybernxs-subscribe@lists.skullspace.ca. The list manager will respond, asking you to confirm your intention to subscribe. Simply reply to the confirmation email and you will be subscribed.

Posting

To post a new thread to the discussion list, provided you're subscribed, email cybernxs@lists.skullspace.ca.

To reply to an existing thread, use the "reply all" feature in your email client. To reply privately to the person who sent the message, simply use the "reply" or "reply to sender" feature in your email client.

Unsubscribing

To unsubscribe, send an email to cybernxs-request@lists.skullspace.ca with the subject "unsubscribe"

Archives

List traffic is archived online at https://groups.google.com/group/skullspace-cybernxs-archive/.

Other commands

Emails can be sent to all lists with commands and arguments in the email body. Multiple commands can be sent, provided they're set one per line. The following commands can be used:

Message Body Notes
help Returns a list of commands and how to use them
info Get info about the mailing list
password [<old password> <new password>] Retrieve or change your password.
subscribe [password] [digest|nodigest] Subscribe to the list. Optionally set a password and digest/no digest mode.
unsubscribe [password] Unsubscribe from the list. If no password is given, emails for confirmation.

Set

Finally, the 'set' command can change a variety of settings. To use set, like the other commands, email cybernexs-request@lists.skullspace.ca with the 'set' command in its body. Unlike other commands, however, set requires you to authenticate:

set authenticate <password>
set <option1> <value1>
set <option2> <value2>
...

If you don't know your password, email cybernexs-request@lists.skullspace.ca with the body 'password' and it'll be sent to you.

Here are the valid set options. Email these, as described above. For more information on these commands, email cybernexs-request@lists.skullspace.ca with the body 'set help'.

Message Body Notes
set help Show detailed help
set show Show current options
set authenticate <password> Must be sent in the same email before changing options
set ack <on|off> When enabled, you'll receive acknowledgment whenever you post to the list.
set digest <plain|mime|off> If digest is plain or mime, you'll receive messages in a daily digest instead of as they come.
set delivery <on|off> Set to 'off' to disable message delivery temporarily, without unsubscribing from the list.
set myposts <on|off> Set to 'off' to stop receiving your own posts to the list.
set duplicates <on|off> Set to 'off' if you don't want messages to be delivered to you if you're explicitly mentioned in the To: or Cc: fields.
set reminders <on|off> Set to 'off' to disable monthly reminders.
