We have decided to implement an actual cleaning solution in the space. Currently, a SkullSpace member will be contracted to take care of the cleaning. The duties are as follows:

  • Weekly
    • Garbage and recycling removal
    • Wash "found" dishes (members should still wash their own)
    • Wipe down and/or dust kitchen appliances
    • Throw out any old food in the fridge (best judgement)
    • Vaccum high-traffic or particularly dirty areas, if needed
    • Sweep particularly dirty areas as needed

  • Monthly
    • Clean the restrooms
    • Vacuum the entire carpeted area
    • Sweep the concrete area

Weekly tasks should be done during weekdays, if possible, and monthly should be done in the week leading up to the monthly Hackathons.

SkullSpace will purchase or re-imburse for supplies as needed.

The current member in charge of cleaning: Clinton

Update: this position is temporarily up for grabs! Clinton broke his leg on February 14, 2012, and will be unable to perform cleaning duties for the next month (estimated). The position is available for anyone who wants it until he can resume them: please contact any board member (personally, or at info (at) skullspace (dot) ca) to confirm you will fill this role. If no one will perform this role, volunteers will be required to handle all tasks.
