That's What Cheese Spread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cashew nuts
  • 375 grams firm tofu - (drain as much of the moisture out as you can using a clean kitchen towel)
  • 1 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 1/2 medium onion
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter (or buttery tasting margarine!)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp dried onion flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tsp tumeric powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil


Preparation:

  • In a food processor, crush the nuts to a fine powder
  • add the onion, then the tofu, then all the rest.
  • Blend well.
  • Allow to meld overnight in the fridge.

Serving size 2 Tablespoons
