  • Goatse Cheese
    • Saturday
  • I'm twelve and what is this soup
    • 2 tbsp of olive oil, used to sauté 1 big onion.
    • Add 1 tbsp ginger and sauté 3 more minutes.
    • At this point, we've got a mix we can use to start the soup. Could we make the soup and give it a day for the flavours to mingle? If so, continue with entire recipe.
  • Sandvich
    • Saturday
  • Very Erotic, Very Violent
    • Saturday
  • I whip my Angel Hair back and forth
    • Combine 8 cloves of chopped garlic, 1/2 cup of olive oil, salt, and 1 tsp red pepper flakes in a large skillet or wok.
    • Sauté over medium heat, until the garlic softens and turns golden, about 8 minutes.
  • Creepypasta sauce
    • This should reheat fine. Complete entire recipe
  • FUS RO DAL
    • Sauté the 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds and 4 cloves of minced garlic with the 1 tbsp of olive oil?
    • Most of the work is in the boiling of the beans, but that's low-maintenance.
  • Naan Bread
    • Can't really do dough the day before. Most of it is just waiting for the dough to rise, though, so do it Saturday.
  • Imma Firin' Mah Lasagne
    • Fry 2 small onions, 2 garlic cloves, 1 chopped green pepper, and 1/2 lb of chopped mushroom.
    • Add 28 oz of diced canned tomatoes, 14 oz of tomato paste, 1/4 cup of chopped parsley, 2 shredded carrots, 1 tsp of basil, 1 tsp of oregano, sugar and salt to taste, 1/4 tsp of pepper, and a pinch of chili flakes
    • Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and then simmer for 30 min
    • Blanch 10 oz of spinach, cool, and squeeze out water
    • Add the spinach, 2 eggs, and 1 lb of ricotta to a food processor; blend until smooth
    • Store vegetable mixture and ricotta mixture separately.
    • On Saturday, layer (sauce, noodles, ricotta, sauce, mozza) two times and bake at 350F for 30 mins
  • Nyaan Bread
    • Roll red bean paste very thin between sheets of cooking parchment. Do two of these (about one bag of red bean paste).
  • 2-Girls 1-Cupcake
    • Can't store ingredients, but technically could store the final results.
  • Dramatic Chip Cookies
    • Same as above
  • Five-minute fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuudge
    • Just make it on Saturday
  • Chunky Norris Peanut Brittle
    • This too

Actually, all the desserts can be made the day before OR earliest on Saturday. They don't need to be hot. (Some things might dry out a bit, which is why making them early on Saturday might be best.

To-Do

  1. NOW: Hang signage (Washrooms, exits)
  2. 4-6 hours, Oct 14-19: Plan for entertainment; touch base with Colin2
  3. 1-3 hours, Thu Oct 18: Plan the cooking: what can be prepared beforehand to make work easier on Saturday?
  4. 2-3 hours, Fri Oct 19: Prepare the semi-perishable sauces and confections; marinate things
  5. 1-2 hours, Fri Oct 19: Clean the space again. Install accent lighting
    1. Cook vegetables and other part; store until needed
  6. 4-6 hours, Sat Oct 20, 11:00am-6:00pm: make most dishes, and entrées
    1. Cook the things we know will need reheating
    2. Combine the cooked ingredients into their final forms directly before loading vehicles and serving
    • (Travel time? No more than ten minutes. Serving entrées at 7:10, and main course at 7:30?)
  7. 1-2 hours, Sat Oct 20, 5:00-7:00pm: Finish the main course and get it to SkullSpace by 7:25 or so.

More ideas:

  • Should we have pans of boiled water to keep things warm? Do we have any of those units?
  • Remember to have good containers to everything. We'll need to plan for that when we're planning the cook-off.

Brainstorming

  • Why? What's important?
    • Funds
      • We're not expecting too much profit, but every little bit helps
      • If we get $20/person for a $10-$14 meal (depending on what dishes they go for and how much they eat), that's $6-$10 per person, and if we get 30 people that's $180-$300.
    • AMichael just wants to cook for some reason?
    • Boosting the Cookbook project
    • SkSp community and culture
      • I think this is the most important
  • What would be going on?
    • Use a projector or more to play meme slideshows or videos
      • Trololo sing-along?
    • Use the sound systems with the videos and for meme music
    • A buffet-style line-up of food based on memes or with meme-based puns.
  • Places!
    • In SkullSpace
      • Brings people to the space, and creates that shared culture
      • Might be a bit dingy
        • Cleaning will help a lot!
        • Also, good accent lighting
        • The place will be transformed for the event
        • This would affect the space itself
      • I'll get some matching cutlery sets. We have plenty of plates (And I can bring some in).
      • How would we cook?
        • We wouldn't be able to actually make everything there, without a stove and oven.
        • We could use someone's nearby house or a community centre
      • In the classroom
        • Lots of light and space
          • Except it'll be dark by then
          • The lights are kind of garish
        • Right by the kitchen
        • Would the charity buildathon be held there? Or in the workshop?
      • In the lounge
        • Very comfortable
        • It's the most social spot in the space
        • A bit difficult to eat
          • But a table could be put in, too; there's way too much space
        • We could set up the food buffet-style right in the lounge
        • Random people coming to pick up buildathon machines wouldn't even need to see us
    • At someone's house
      • It would be nice, and personal
      • Really depends if it's central
      • Only if we don't have many people
      • If we only get a few people, this would actually be a very good idea.
    • At a community centre
      • Is it a good one?
      • Could be as dingy as SkullSpace would be
      • Is it central?
      • Could be really nice
      • Good kitchens
      • Would we get dishes?

Entertainment

  • Music
  • Projector with meme images
  • Get someone to spend some time around the dinner with a video camera
  • Sing-along
    • Trololo
    • Friday
    • Chocolate Rain
